A bone of the skull located in the roof of the nasal cavity, between the orbits. It separates the nose from the brain. It it divided into three parts: the cribriform plate (contains the olfactory bulb), the ethmoidal labyrinth, and the perpendicular plate (middle nasal concha, superior two-thirds of the nasal septum).
