A condition of exaggerated deep tendon reflexes. Common causes include upper motor neuron injury (e.g., due to stroke, spinal cord injury, multiple sclerosis), hyperthyroidism, drug reactions (e.g., heroin withdrawal, serotonin syndrome), and hypocalcemia.
