Methylmalonyl-CoA

An intermediary in the metabolism of odd-chain fatty acids, the amino acids isoleucine, valine, methionine, and threonine, and the pyrimidines thymine and uracil. Formed from propionyl-CoA by propionyl-CoA carboxylase and converted by methylmalonyl-CoA mutase to succinyl-CoA, which then enters the TCA cycle.
